Uninstallation

As there are two elemental parts that constitute the core Gantry template, the uninstallation process can be broken up into two parts. If you intend to uninstall only the template portion, then follow the instructions for removing the template only. Keeping the Gantry library installed really does not harm as it is only used by a Gantry-enabled template, but if you wish to uninstall the library, you can follow those steps also.

Uninstall the Gantry Template

To initiate the uninstallation process, you need to first ensure you do not have the Gantry template set as default. So first you will need to pick another template as your default by browsing to the Template Manager in the Joomla administrator. Once there, you can select the radio button next to another template and click the Default button in the toolbar. With another template selected as Default, you will be able to proceed to the next step to uninstall the existing version.

To uninstall the template, navigate to the Extensions -> Install/Uninstall option from the main menu of the Joomla Administrator. This will take you to the Joomla installer area.

Next, select the Templates sub-menu to be shown the list of templates installed in your Joomla installation. Now you can select the checkbox next to the rt_gantry_j15 entry, or any other Gantry-powered templates you wish to uninstall. Once checked, you should click the Uninstall button in the toolbar to complete the uninstallation process.

Uninstall the Gantry Library

To uninstall the library, navigate to the Extensions -> Install/Uninstall option from the main menu of the Joomla Administrator. This will take you to the Joomla installer area. Next, select the Components sub-menu to be shown the list of components installed in your Joomla installation. Now you can select the checkbox next to the com_gantry entry. Once checked, you should click the Uninstall button in the toolbar to complete the uninstallation process of the Gantry library.
